Cabo de Gata

Driving towards Almería and just 1 hour from the hotel we find the first land-sea park in Andalusia . Cabo de gata stands out for its unique climate, the volcanic origin of its soils, and for the diversity and uniqueness of fauna and flora that is the result of the contrasts between the marine, coastal and terrestrial environment.

The mountains, in their encounter with the sea, draw coves of great beauty that give rise to the fifty kilometers of best preserved cliff coast in the European Mediterranean. For this reason, it is the area with the largest surface area and ecological relevance in the entire Western European Mediterranean Sea. Natural beaches such as San José, Mónsul, and Los Genoveses take place in such a magnificent meeting of ecosystems.

Thanks to the maritime-terrestrial nature of this natural park, it conditions the presence of a powerful range of activities. Among them, diving in transparent waters –La Isleta-, boat routes accessing coves of unusual beauty, canoeing or swimming. For its part, the network of marked trails offers tours on foot, on horseback or by bicycle that allow visitors to discover the natural and cultural heritage of a protected area.

Cabo de gata has become one of the natural jewels for international tourism.
